What is

Homeopathy

Homeopathy is used by millions worldwide as a safe, effective system of healing. Over 200 years ago homeopathy was "discovered" by a German physician - Samuel Hahnemann. The system of medicine has principles even older than Hippocrates which wrote in 400 BC, "Through the like, disease is produced and through the application of the like, it is cured".

The word homeopathy comes from the Greek words homoios for similar and pathos for suffering or disease. The word was introduced by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann upon his discovery that any substance that can cause symptoms when given to healthy people can help to heal the symptoms the client is experiencing during a sickness. Homeopathy seeks to cure with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing.

Homeopathy treats the whole person - mind, body, and spirit and reflects the individuality of treatment. During the initial homeopathic consultation, the practitioner will take time to get to know the individual and then choose a remedy which best complements the mental, emotional, and physical state of the client.

Homeopathic remedies are prepared from natural sources by homeopathic pharmacies and are regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration. They are non-toxic and when used properly can be safely used by infants, children, and adults. There are no known contraindications or interactions between homeopathic remedies and conventional medicines.
